Relationship Counselling

Relationships can be rewarding, but they can also be difficult, particularly when communication breaks down or you find yourselves having the same arguments over and over again.

Relationship counselling offers a confidential and supportive space to explore what is happening within your relationship and begin to understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

You may be experiencing:

  • Frequent arguments or conflict
  • Difficulties communicating or feeling heard
  • Feeling emotionally disconnected from one another
  • Loss of trust or difficulties following betrayal
  • Differences in needs, expectations or values
  • Changes in your relationship following major life events
  • Difficulties with intimacy or affection
  • Feeling more like housemates than partners
  • Repeated patterns that you cannot seem to resolve
  • Uncertainty about the future of your relationship

How relationship counselling can help

In our sessions, we can explore the experiences, emotions and patterns that sit beneath relationship difficulties. Rather than focusing simply on who is right or wrong, we can work towards understanding each person's perspective and what may be happening between you.

Counselling can provide an opportunity to:

  • Improve communication
  • Understand recurring relationship patterns
  • Express needs and emotions more openly
  • Develop healthier ways of managing conflict
  • Rebuild connection and emotional intimacy
  • Explore trust and relationship ruptures
  • Develop a greater understanding of yourself and your partner
  • Consider how past experiences may influence your relationship today

My approach is compassionate, non-judgemental and collaborative. I will not take sides or tell you what you should do with your relationship. Instead, I will support you both to explore what is happening and consider what you would like to change.

Sometimes relationships reach a point where couples feel stuck and don't know how to move forward. You don't have to wait until things reach crisis point before seeking support.

Relationship counselling can be a space to pause, understand and begin to reconnect.
